With a velvety growl, Maul himself invites you to look more closely at a galaxy reshaped by the Empire in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Today, the first teaser trailer and poster for the animated series arrived, giving fans our first glimpse at the world of Janix and the machinations of the underworld playing out in an era near the beginning of Emperor Palpatine’s reign.
Beginning with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ April 6, 2026, and two episodes each week leading to a finale on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord picks up after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge….
The third installment of the award-winning anthology counts Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi among the cast.

FILM FACT: The sets and the costumes for the 1977 comedy film Carry On Up The Empire were originally intended for the 1977 production of Star Wars.. However, the production of Star Wars was moved to Yorkshire, where new sets were built in a car park behind some old tires. Some say that Carry On Up The Empire was one of the finest Carry On films, and that the expensive sets and costumes inherited from Star Wars made it the most lavish Carry On film ever made. Others say that the film is beautifully shot, and that the cast are clearly having a ball. Unfortunately all footage was lost following a mysterious chip-pan fire, and Carry On Up The Empire never saw a release. The ‘lost’ trailer for the film was recently discovered in a bin by a bus stop. Here it is lovingly restored for your viewing pleasures.

There’s never been a game set in the galaxy far, far away quite like Star Wars: Hunters. A team-based battle arena shooter from Zynga and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Hunters — arriving June 4 for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch, which StarWars.com is excited to reveal — features fast-paced multi-player clashes across maps inspired by classic locales, from Hoth to Endor. But Star Wars: Hunters also introduces a new element to Star Wars storytelling with its brand of arena combat, a form of fight-entertainment; combatants, or “Hunters,” even play their own characters, resulting in ridiculously fun takes on Star Wars archetypes. (Two stacked Jawas in a trench coat? A droid that thinks it’s a Jedi? This is indeed the game we’re looking for.) With the arrival of a new cinematic trailer and pre-registration now open, StarWars.com spoke with Zynga art director Dominic Estephane about the game’s inspired character designs, the large influence of pro wrestling on Star Wars: Hunters, and the just-revealed announcing duo….
