Actress Gina Carano has settled her lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm after she was fired from Star Wars franchise spin-off The Mandalorian.
She was dropped from the cast in 2021 following comments she made comparing being a Republican in the US to being a Jew during the Holocaust.
Ms Carano, a former MMA fighter who played Cara Dune in the Disney+ series, shared the news of the settlement on X, writing “I hope this brings some healing to the force.”
The agreement, which has not been made public, comes after her case gained support and funding from Elon Musk.
Ms Carano described the settlement as the “best outcome for all parties involved,” adding she was “excited to flip the page and move onto the next chapter”.
She also thanked Musk, saying she’d never met the tech billionaire but he stepped in to do this “Good Samaritan deed for me in funding my lawsuit”.

Carano filed a complaint in California federal court, with help from X/Twitter owner Elon Musk, accusing the entertainment companies of damaging her reputation and discriminating her based on her gender. The stunning High Republic-era hilt arrives later this month.
For lightsaber and life!
As announced last week on the Disney Parks Blog, the Stellan Gios Legacy Lightsaber Hilt will be available starting November 17 — just in time for fans to celebrate Life Day — at Disney Parks and shopDisney. It’s the first Legacy Lightsaber collectible hilt inspired by Star Wars: The High Republic, the storytelling initiative set hundreds of years before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace during the prime of the Jedi Order; Stellan Gios, a Jedi Master, is a key figure in the High Republic saga.
The stunning Legacy Lightsaber hilt features a cross-saber design and gold accents befitting the time period, and is truly unique from lightsabers depicted in other eras of Star Wars. “It was so inspiring to add to the lore of the High Republic era through the design of Stellan Gios’ lightsaber,” designer Jeff Thomas tells StarWars.com. “All of the intricacies — from the colors to the filigrees, as well as the function of the cross guard, were meant to honor and celebrate the elegance of a lightsaber from a more civilized age that readers and fans can explore through the High Republic books.”…
Today, Ashley Eckstein is known for voicing one of the most popular “Star Wars” characters of the 21st century: Ahsoka Tano. The performer, who has won praise and recognition for her turn as the Togruta Jedi turned Rebel, surprised audiences when she made her debut in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” She quickly proved herself capable of not just kicking major butt in the “Star Wars” universe but also of being great enough to slip into existing canon without alienating picky fans of the original and prequel trilogies.
Since Ahsoka’s introduction, she’s become a massively popular character, starring in “Star Wars Rebels” and “Tales of the Jedi” and making the leap to live action, with Rosario Dawson putting on the head tails to embody the character. Ahsoka wasn’t always embraced by “Star Wars” fans, though…
