George Lucas’ Ex-Wife Gets Candid

George Lucas’ ex-wife Marcia Lucas – who served as an editor on the original trilogy of Star Wars – discussed which movie of the bunch was the “most problematic” and faced troubles in the editing room.

Star Wars has always been a franchise about family, more specifically the Skywalker family, but the production also has its own family story behind it. The franchise’s infamous creator George Lucas worked on the films with his now ex-wife Marcia Lucas, who served as editor on the project.

The two were married in 1969, eight years before A New Hope was released, but eventually divorced in 1983, the same year Return of the Jedi hit theaters. And although the Lucas couple closely collaborated on the entire original trilogy, Marcia has expressed plenty of distance to much of the Star Wars content since.

Not only did the Star Wars editor describe Disney’s sequel trilogy as “just terrible,” but she also revealed how she cried after first viewing The Phantom Menance out of dislike. However, it appears that wasn’t the start of her problems with the galaxy far, far away based on recent comments about Return of the Jedi…

The Acolyte Gets Filming Update

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Star Wars will soon bring the High Republic to live-action as Disney+’s The Acolyte series finally has some exciting news after months of disappointing delays.

Most of Star Wars’ Disney+ endeavors so far have explored familiar faces in the timeline of the famous Skywalker Saga, but that’s all about to change. After seeing a major push on the publishing side, the High Republic will soon be coming to live-action with The Acolyte, a mystery-thriller exploring the emergence of the Sith.

The secretive project – which will star Amandla Stenberg as “Aura,” which may be a codename – has suffered constant delays since its December 2020 reveal. The first timetable that emerged last summer pointed toward The Acolyte getting in front of the cameras this February, but that never came to be.

Further delays went on to push the Lucasfilm production to Summer 2022 and then eventually October 2022 as casting continued. Now, as October comes to a close, more news has surfaced on the series, and things are finally beginning to look up for the first live-action dive into the High Republic….

Jedi Fallen Order 2 Gets Release Update

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Earlier this year, fans were treated with the first glimpse at Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts’ Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order followup, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The sequel to 2019’s Star Wars epic has fans itching to get back into control of protagonist Cal Cestis as is “challenged in ways that we haven’t seen” before.

Survivor debuted with a teaser trailer back at Star Wars Celebration in May and instantly had fans diving into a flurry of questions. Who was in the bacta tank? Why is Cal bearded? Was that the Grand Inquisitor?

But the biggest question of all was when is this next-gen game coming? No official release date has been announced for the title, but rumors (and internal EA documents) have pointed to it hitting store shelves sometime before March 2023. However, the radio silence surrounding the project has gamers around the world worried that the Star Wars epic could be the victim of a delay, something insiders are saying seems unlikely….

Ahsoka Gets Exciting Filming Update

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

The upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka will carry forth the story of the Togruta ex-Jedi, presumably as she continues her search for Ezra Bridger.

Along for the ride is none other than Sabine Wren, seemingly making Ahsoka as much of a Star Wars Rebels sequel as it is a standalone project. Actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo will bring the colorful Mandalorian warrior to life alongside Rosario Dawson’s take on the title character.

The show began production earlier this year with a targeted release date set for sometime in 2023, and it seems Bordizzo has very recently fulfilled her commitments to the Disney+ series….

Disney+ Boss Gets Candid About Show Cancellations

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Disney+ has been experiencing incredible success ever since its launch in 2019, and this was mostly due to the influx of content from Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that streaming for the studio is “100 percent the future,” which was further proven by the consistent arrival of small screen projects, such as Loki and Moon Knight. However, one discussion point that fans have been talking about is the renewal chances of these shows.

So far, Marvel series like Loki, I Am Groot, and What If…? have received second-season orders while The Mandalorian and Andor have multiple Disney+ slates under their bag, to begin with.

This leads to rampant speculation on whether other shows, such as Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight will receive a Season 2. Some have theorized that they would be canceled in favor of big-screen appearances.

Now, a Disney+ executive has addressed this matter….

Andor S2 Gets Release Update

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

The first season of the latest Star Wars streaming series, Andor, is very fast approaching. Arriving this week, the show stars Diego Luna as the Rebel Alliance captain and centers on how he became the man audiences met in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Of course, Season 1 of Andor is only one side of the coin. A Season 2 has indeed already been greenlit by Lucasfilm and Disney, although details on that second round of episodes remain under wraps.

The second half of Season 1 will feature a series of time jumps that occur every few episodes which will lead viewers straight into the story of Rogue One. But when exactly will Season 2 arrive on Disney+? Showrunner Tony Gilroy responded with a potential timeframe….

Disney’s Next Star Wars Movie Gets Delayed

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Disney+ has allowed the Star Wars galaxy to expand more rapidly than ever, even through the struggles of the pandemic. Between more stories with fan-favorite characters, new forms of storytelling, and a whole new era of the franchise, Star Wars has grown on Disney+, but what happened to the theatrical blockbusters?

Although Star Wars currently has movies in the works from Taika Waititi, Kevin Feige, Rian Johnson, and more legendary creatives, progress has proven slow. Only Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron has been formally revealed for a December 2023 release, with comments indicating Waititi’s movie might arrive first.

Amid the mess of Star Wars’ theatrical future, a new report surfaced that may reveal things have gotten even worse as the wait continues for the franchise’s first movie since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker….

Bad Batch S2 Gets New Release Date?

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2’s release frame is in a state of flummox. Lucasfilm originally announced the sophomore run to the hit animated series would debuted this fall during Celebration, with all indicators pointing a September 28 premiere. But the plan has seemingly changed, as the series was omitted from the September lineup of Disney+ releases.

Nearly every Star Wars streaming title not named The Mandalorian has had a scheduling reshuffle, and The Bad Batch appears to be no exception. With Andor being pushed back to a three-episode premiere on September 21, many have speculated that Lucasfilm is holding Bad Batch back a bit to create more separation between the year’s final shows.

But that delay could far more significant than anyone expected. A new rumor suggests that The Bad Batch‘s second season may not be happening in 2022 at all, but rather on the flip side of the new year….

Star Wars: Ewan McGregor Gets Honest About Spoilery Leaks Online

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

One of the most anticipated projects to come from Lucasfilm in recent years was Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. Set a decade after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a sort of prequel reunion for both Obi-Wan’s Ewan McGregor and Anakin/Darth Vader’s Hayden Christensen while also a bridge between the prequel and original trilogies, given the presence of both young Leia and Luke Skywalker.

While Lucasfilm’s casting of a young Luke Skywalker was announced ahead of the show’s debut, young Leia – who was masterfully portrayed by Vivien Lyra Blair – was supposed to have been kept under wraps.

However, news of her role made its way online ahead of Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s May premiere, along with the news that the Jedi Master wouldn’t be on Tatooine as much as fans initially expected.

Now, Obi-Wan’s Ewan McGregor, who also served as the series executive producer, is speaking out about those leaks, as well as how its story changed over time.

During the Fan Expo Boston, as reported by ComicBook.com, Ewan McGregor compared Obi-Wan Kenobi leaks to “looking at your Christmas presents before Christmas Day:”

(It’s All Star Wars Note: Well, also a lot of sites exist purely to get the hits from spoilers so fans can’t really be blamed)
