Making his RFR debut, Brendan Wayne joins us In The Cantina to talk about his experiences on the set of THE MANDALORIAN, his life as an actor and the connection he feels with his famous grandfather’s legacy. He discusses a medical emergency that temporarily prevented him from playing the role, working with superstars like Sigorney Weaver and the late Carl Weathers, and he provides us with excitement as we look forward to next year’s feature film, THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU. Jason and Jimmy Mac dig into leaked concept art from AHSOKA Season 2 and uncover what it could mean for the next chapter in Ahsoka Tano’s journey! From mysterious character designs to location reveals, we break down the biggest secrets and hidden details found in these images.
According to a new insider’s report, one fan-favorite Star Wars Legends Jedi is being lined up to become canon. When taking over the franchise in 2012, Disney cordoned off a section of the Star Wars Extended Universe, making everything outside the mainline movies and TV shows released to that point no longer canon, dubbing these stories Legends. Since then, Lucasfilm has brought several popular names from Legends into canon with new stories set in the galaxy far, far away, including Grand Admiral Thrawn, Darth Revan, and HK-47.
However, many beloved characters like Darth Malak, Jacen Solo, and Kyle Katarn still remain locked behind the Legends branding, meaning they (and the stories they are associated with) are not considered part of the Star Wars canon. That could be changing for one name soon, though, as a new report suggested Luke Skywalker’s wife, Mara Jade, may be primed for canonization…
We’re looking ahead to the future for STAR WARS and, of course, Ahsoka Tano plays a big role. Recently, RFR acquired top-secret concept art images from AHSOKA season two and we go through them all to provide detailed descriptions and observations while looking for clues about the upcoming series. On the animated side of STAR WARS, we speculate about a specific Dark Side character who may show up in MAUL: SHADOW LORD. Plus, Ashley Eckstein recently set the record straight about the origin of #AshokaLives and the role RFR played in it’s creation and more!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA) in Tempe, Arizona to see an exhibition of Star Wars art created by contemporary Native artists entitled The Return of the Force. This exhibition ran from January through mid-May, and was the second showing of The Return of the Force, which debuted in 2023 in Durango, Colorado. This exhibition was a follow-up to The Force Is With Our People, held in 2019 at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, and curated by the museum’s ethnographer, Tony Thibodeau.
I’d like to recognize the artists who participated in this exhibition. Thank you for sharing your creativity and your stories. I would also like to acknowledge the Gallery team at TCA for hosting this exhibit, and I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Duane Koyawena (Hopi/Tewa) and Samantha Honanie (Hopi/Diné). I am grateful for your insights and your collaboration in helping me share these stories…

“Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards recently told Business Insider that he would never make another “Star Wars” movie again, adding: “I’m very happy to move on and do my thing.”
Starring Felicity Jones and Diego Luna, “Rogue One” was the first “Star Wars” spinoff movie and centered on a group of rebels on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. The ensemble cast included Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Forest Whitaker. While “Rogue One” was acclaimed by critics and fans upon its release in 2016 (it grossed more than $1 billion worldwide), its reputation has only gone up amid the adoration for its Disney+ prequel series “Andor.”…

Mia Goth has joined Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, the feature from director Shawn Levy.
Gosling is leading the new feature project, which is expected to begin production this fall in England. It is scheduled to open May 28, 2027.
Details on the project are scant, but it does involve Gosling playing a character that must protect a young charge against evil pursuers.
Goth will play one of the pursuers. It is the same role that Mikey Madison had been circling before her deal blew up like a Death Star — over money matters…
Mark Hamill says Carrie Fisher once had to remind him where he came from.
During a recent interview on NPR’s “Fresh Air,” Hamill remembered that Fisher encouraged him to “embrace” his “Star Wars” roots after Hamill omitted the credit from a Broadway playbill.
“[Carrie Fisher] came to see a Broadway show of mine,” Hamill said. “And in the playbill, in my bio, I listed all my theater credits and at the end it said, ‘He’s also known for a series of popular space movies.’ And she goes, ‘What’s the deal? How come you don’t mention “Star Wars”?’ And I said, ‘Well, I want to show that I have a resume that includes extensive theater credits.’ And she said, ‘Hey, get over yourself. You’re Luke Skywalker. I’m Princess Leia. Embrace it.’”…
Don’t expect Mark Hamill to return to the “Star Wars” universe anytime soon.
In a recent interview with ComicBook, Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the first three franchise-spawning “Star Wars” films, discussed his future in the immortal sci-fi universe. While he was the one to kick it off with “A New Hope” in 1977 alongside Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, Hamill has no interest in taking the saga any further.
“I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called ‘Star Wars’ ‘the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,’” he said. “We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I’m appreciative of that, but I think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.”…
I got to speak with Nika Futterman along with a few other Star Wars creators about the return of Asajj Ventress in The Bad Batch and Tales of the Underworld! I hope you enjoy the conversation.
Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars have both been delayed to December 2026 and 2027, leaving The Mandalorian & Grogu and Starfighter in May with less competition!

Now that ANDOR has wrapped up, we aren’t quite ready yet to let it go. We scoured the web to collect the best interview highlights featuring Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy, who provides valuable insights into the finished series and gives us a lot to talk about. FORTNITE recently revealed an all-new A.I. powered Darth Vader character that players can interact with via voice text, so naturally because it’s the internet, people started to manipulate the “Sith-Bot” to say outrageous and unthinkable things. Of course, we had to try ourselves so you can hear what Darth has to say about Rebel Force Radio. It ain’t pretty. Big Announcement!
