RFR made the journey out to the beautiful redwood forests of California for The Forest Moon Festival celebrating the Endor shooting locations from RETURN OF THE JEDI. From Del Norte County to Humboldt County, we were part of a “caravan of courage” traveling up and down the Northwest Pacific to podcast at various event locations. Joining us were original ROTJ Ewok Kevin Thompson and our pal, FANBOYS director Kyle Newman. We talk to fans, cosplayers, artists, musicians, and locals who share their pride for living in a region that served as the Forest Moon home of the Ewoks. Hear from those who remember when Jedi was being filmed and contributed, along with those who celebrate the legacy. We even find out which “Jedi” cast member got pulled over for speeding! “Magical” was a word that couldn’t be overused throughout the weekend. This week, you can hear what we did. Next week, we’ll tell you the stories. Yub Nub!

Star Wars: Visions is returning to its anime roots with nine new shorts slated for release next year.
At the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase, it was exclusively revealed that Star Wars: Visions will debut a third volume in 2025.
The award-winning series first premiered in 2021, with nine shorts by seven different Japanese anime studios celebrating the mythology of Star Wars through unique cultural perspectives. Last year’s second volume took the imaginative series on a global tour, featuring animation from across Japan, India, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Chile, France, South Africa, South Korea, and the United States….
Temuera Morrison, Anthony Daniels, and more are headed to the celebration in Japan.
By StarWars.com Team
It’s official: the actors behind Boba Fett, C-3PO, and more are heading to Star Wars Celebration Japan next year!
Star Wars icon Anthony Daniels, the only actor to work on all 11 Star Wars feature films, will make an appearance. Daniels notably portrayed C-3PO in all three Skywalker saga trilogies.
Also from live action, Temuera Morrison will be there. Morrison first played Jango Fett and his army of clones in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and has more recently brought Boba Fett back from the (presumed) dead on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Lucasfilm’s own Doug Chiang, an Academy Award-winning artist who also serves as senior vice president and executive design director, will be there, too. Recently, Chiang has served as production designer on several Star Wars live-action series, including The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew….
Will Andor make it for its original 2024 release date, or will it be pushed? What Star Wars reference books are must haves? These questions and more answered in this week’s Q&A!
Disney has announced that they will no longer be releasing a Star Wars film on December 19, 2025. Instead, they are planning on releasing two feature films in 2026, seven months apart, on May 22, 2026, and December 18, 2026.
The first film on that list will come out just three weeks after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is released in theaters (Disney has also moved around Marvel’s release calendar). The company has not announced which movies will come out on each date. However, the most likely scenario is that this is the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed film they were targeting for 2025 and that due to the writers’ strike, they had to press Pause on for the moment. Meanwhile, the December date is likely the Dave Filoni-directed film that will culminate the overarching story told in The Mandalorian and spin-off shows during the New Republic era…
More news on the Damon Lindelof-written Star Wars movie has come into focus from Jeff Sneider, who was the first to report that Lindelof was developing a Star Wars movie.
About 19 minutes into his podcast The Hot Mic, the conversation towards Star Wars and specifically the recent news about Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy being hired to direct the movie scripted by Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson. While Star Wars movies as of late have entered periods of development hell while Lucasfilm paves a cinematic future not solely dependent on the Skywalker Family, Sneider explained that he was confident this film will be the next one in theaters…
