Why Dooku’s ONLY Plan to Overthrow Palpatine Almost Succeeded

Count Dooku is often remembered as a pawn of Palpatine, but Star Wars Legends tells a far more dangerous story. In this deep dive, we explore Dooku’s secret plan to break the Rule of Two, reshape the Sith into a dark mirror of the Jedi Order, and rule as a Sith Grand Master through three forbidden holocrons: the Sith Nova Holocron, the ancient Dark Holocron of the Twelve Dark Jedi, and Darth Andeddu’s holocron of immortality and essence transfer. From recruitment and hidden knowledge to eternal rule beyond death, this video examines how close Dooku may have come to overthrowing Darth Sidious and asks the ultimate question: would the galaxy have been worse under an eternal, disciplined Dooku, or under Palpatine’s chaotic tyranny.

Why Lucasfilm Entrusted Simon Kinberg

Here’s the latest from Variety

When news broke on Thursday that Simon Kinberg — best known for being a writer, producer, director or all of the above on much of the “X-Men” franchise — had been hired by Lucasfilm to write and produce a new “Star Wars” trilogy, it came as a surprise to many executives at Lucasfilm and Disney. The project is considered internally to be in deep development and not nearly ready to be made public.

There was also some surprise within the wider industry that Lucasfilm had turned to Kinberg as the newest steward of “Star Wars” on the big screen. According to multiple industry sources with experience working in the franchise space, Kinberg is seen on one level as a sensible and safe choice….

Matthew Wood Explains Why The Phantom Menace Was His Favorite Movie to Work On

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

The veteran sound artist was among the first crew members to work on the Star Wars prequel entry.

By Lucas Seastrom

The first person to watch the initial assembly of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) wasn’t director George Lucas. It was then-25-year-old Matthew Wood of Skywalker Sound. As he tells StarWars.com, picture editors Ben Burtt and Paul Martin Smith had spent weeks with Lucas at Skywalker Ranch compiling the first rough version of Episode I. Hours long and far from the refined cut that audiences would see, it was up to Wood to review it and make notes about voices that needed recording.

“Paul and Ben ran out their sequences on video tapes for me,” Wood recalls, “and as I walked into their office, they were all stacked up really high on the table. George Lucas said, ‘Well, here you go, Matt. You’re the first person that’s going to watch the whole movie from beginning to end.’” George was obviously watching everything between the two editing rooms, but they hadn’t screened the movie in its entirety yet. This was the first output of the movie, and I had it in my hands. The Ranch has these bikes so we can ride between the buildings, and I put all the tapes in the front basket and rode back to the Tech Building….

Why George Lucas Retitled The First Star Wars Movie

Here’s the latest from ScreenRant

Star Wars creator George Lucas changed the title of the first movie to A New Hope, and the explanation behind his decision is very interesting. Episode numbers and subtitles may be an essential part of the Star Wars saga now, but that wasn’t the case when the original movie came out in 1977. This reflects Lucas’ original expectations for Star Wars and how his plans changed after the movie became an enormous success.

A New Hope also started the tradition of Star Wars movie titles with multiple interpretations. Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, and The Last Jedi either had different meanings or significance that weren’t clear right away. However, there is a clear explanation for A New Hope’s title and why Lucas retitled Star Wars in the first place…
