Michelle Ang Talks Spoilers for The Bad Batch Season 2 Finale

The actor who portrays Omega tells StarWars.com about her character’s emotional journey in the heartbreaking two-episode finale.

Spoiler warning: This article contains plot details from the two-episode Season 2 finale of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, “The Summit” and “Plan 99.”

Plan 99 has been executed, and with it, Omega’s world shattered. But just when it seemed things couldn’t get any worse for Clone Force 99…the Empire arrived on Ord Mantell.

As Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch came to a poignant end this week, the team was torn apart, with Omega — the emotional center of the squad — trapped at the epicenter of the chaos and kidnapped by Imperial scientists. Behind the scenes, Michelle Ang says the harrowing finale is her favorite episode of the season, a rollercoaster that challenged Omega and the actor behind her, and introduced Ang to two new colleagues — Jimmi Simpson as the nefarious Dr. Royce Hemlock and fellow New Zealander Keisha Castle-Hughes as the mysterious Dr. Emerie Karr. “It’s so gut-wrenching,” Ang tells StarWars.com. “I love the fun missions, don’t get me wrong. But the emotional ones are always the ones that I like to watch best. And also, the ones that I love recording the most.”

Recently, Ang sat down with StarWars.com to discuss her character’s journey in the series so far, and finding the right balance between Omega’s grief and surviving Tech’s haunting sacrifice…

Months after the series premiered on Disney+, Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor, who plays the titular character, reflected on the finale.

In May 2022, the highly anticipated show, Obi-Wan Kenobi, finally began streaming on Disney+. The release followed years of retooling and had been in the works since Disney first bought Lucasfilm in 2012.

The popular Disney+ project had an incredible run and packed several surprises, from Princess Leia’s unexpectedly massive role in the series to Qui-Gon Jin’s surprise cameo in the show.

Disney+ Announces Historic Finale for Bad Batch Season 2 Release

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Star Wars will take a new direction with the release of The Bad Batch during its run on Disney+, making history in the process.

Fans recently got their eyes on the first trailer for Season 2 of The Bad Batch thanks to an unexpected post on the main Disney+ website, showing the fandom what Hunter, Wrecker, Omega, and the team will have to face across the galaxy. This season will even include a couple of classic Star Wars clones like Commander Cody from the original trilogy and Captain Rex from The Clone Wars, touching on plenty of Star Wars story threads from the 21st century.

The show is set to arrive on Disney+ shortly after the new year begins, complete with the first two episodes both arriving on the streaming network on January 4.

But while a two-episode premiere is far from uncommon during Disney’s streaming era, The Bad Batch will take a more unique route with the release of later episodes as well…
