Force lightning is one of the most visually striking and dangerous abilities in Star Wars, but not all lightning is created equal. In this video, we take a deep dive into the different colors of Force lightning, with a special focus on the rare and mysterious red variant. What makes red Force lightning so unique in canon, and why is it associated with moments of extreme dark side power? We also explore how Legends continuity expands the meaning behind lightning colors, including why purple Force lightning is often portrayed as the most destructive form of the technique. From Darth Vader and Darth Sidious to Luke Skywalker and Mother Talzin, this is a lore-heavy breakdown of power, symbolism, and the mythology behind one of the Force’s most iconic abilities.
Welcome back to “This Week, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away“, in what is likely going to be our saddest edition yet. It’d been a slow news week and though I initially struggled with finding a topic for today’s edition, I finally settled on discussing recent reports surrounding streaming data from Nielsen. But then, the news about Carl Weathers hit on Friday and I had to change course.
Before we get to all of that, some plugs for other stuff I was working on this week. It’s been a busy week at MovieNewsNet.com, where I reviewed three films from last week’s Sundance online edition: breakout hit A Real Pain, this year’s winner In the Summers, and Hulu’s Suncoast. I was also able to see the new Daisy Ridley movie Sometimes I Think About Dying, which was pretty good! (It’s slowly expanding to more and more theaters in the US.) Last but not least, I was finally able to complete my top 24 most anticipated movies of the year!…
Welcome back to a new edition of “This Week, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.” Is anyone else tired of seeing the same Ryan Gosling GIF from the Critics Choice Awards on social media? I thought so! It’s been an interesting week in Star Wars, for sure, even if we still have no news on The Bad Batch season 3 — although, according to Jennifer Corbett, something should get announced soon.
We have a lot to discuss today, as I’ll be running a status report on all confirmed Star Wars movies. As always, let me know your thoughts, opinions, comments, and complaints in the comments section or via our Contact page. The idea of these weekly articles is to have a direct connection with our readers as we recap the week in the franchise with some analysis of what’s going on. Let us begin…
Happy Sunday, and welcome back to my weekly rant called “This Week, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away“. There was no shortage of things to talk about last week, but today, it’s going to be a slightly slower edition. As always, thanks for stopping by, and share the joy with your loved ones if you enjoy it! Today, we’ll discuss Star Wars sequel trilogy plans and how Netflix’s big viewership data dump could affect the Streaming Wars.
This past week has been the traditional busy time where everyone is trying to get their things in order before the holiday break, and that also happened to me. So many things to do, so little sleep. But I’m on the other side now, so hopefully, you’ll be soon too. Looking ahead, we have a few days before Christmas Day with a ton of new stuff, from Zack Snyder’s Star Wars wannabe Rebel Moon (which is getting destroyed by early reviews) to the event of the month for the Star Wars News Net *staff: the release of the Percy Jackson series on Disney Plus…
*Oh these websites with staff!! What are staff?!! 😉
Happy Sunday, and welcome to a discussion-packed version of “This Week, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away“, as I return from a five-day holiday break where I live. Did I miss anything while I was gone? As always, thanks to our readers who have been keeping up with my Sunday rants from week to week. Feel free to share with your friends or on social media if you enjoy it, and let me know in the comments! Today, we’re talking The Mandalorian season 4, the Daisy Ridley-led Star Wars film, and the three-year anniversary of Disney’s Investor Day 2020….

It’s been a relatively quiet week in the Star Wars galaxy, at least compared to last week, but we still had quite a few of interesting quotes from several people tied to the franchise. Let’s break it all down, beginning with three headlines you may have missed….
If you live in the US, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and either way, I hope you had a wonderful week. It wasn’t a holiday where I live, but I still enjoyed some time tuning out the news and the entertainment business (other than watching Napoleon on Friday) for a few days. And though it seemed like it would be a slow week for Star Wars, it was most definitely not, as Lucasfilm and Daisy Ridley dropped a one-two-punch on Tuesday. The effects of these stories reverberated into the weekend with more interviews from Dave Filoni and Taika Waititi. Let’s try to unpack it all!
Star Wars Quote of the Week
“It’s not what I expected, but I’m very excited,” Daisy Ridley told Collider in a recent chat discussing her new feature film, which will mark the return of Rey Skywalker in a story set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. There is a lot to unpack from the few sentences she said about the project, but this is definitely the one that’s been circulating the most. Prior to this comment, she also pointed out that “The story is really cool”…

Grand Admiral Thrawn returns in the latest episode of the thrilling new series.
Grand Admiral Thrawn has been biding his time in exile, awaiting the moment when Morgan Elsbeth would make good on her promise to find him.
In “Part Six: Far, Far Away,” now streaming on Disney+, the fearsome Chiss makes his debut in live action, with a methodical stride and an army of creepy Night Troopers, led by Captain Enoch. But where’s Ezra? It’ll take Sabine Wren, a docile howler, and a whole encampment of friendly Noti to answer that. Here are five highlights from the latest installment of Ahsoka…
“More witches!” We take our first steps into a larger world this week with a whole new “Far, Far Away” galaxy to explore! The hunt for Ezra is underway as Baylan Skoll’s motives begin to surface while the “Heir to the Empire” plots his return. Break it all down with us on the RFR Ahsoka After Show featuring your calls, thoughts, theories and observations!
Part six of Ahsoka…might have topped the past two weeks for me. It’s been one great episode after another. It’s wild to see stuff on screen I simply never imagined I would as a young Star Wars reader back in the mid 90s. And now here it is! And it lived up to the hype I had in my head! So let’s talk about episode six titled Far, Far Away!
Executive producer Bellamie Blackstone takes StarWars.com inside the galactic game show event.
For fans of the galaxy far, far away and an iconic game show, this will be a week long remembered.
The combined strength of Star Wars and Wheel of Fortune has been realized for Galactic Celebration, an unlikely yet super fun crossover between the two beloved entertainment franchises, airing this week. “It’s clearly such a fun fit,” Bellamie Blackstone, executive producer of Wheel of Fortune, tells StarWars.com, “and we loved the opportunity to celebrate the fans of both Star Wars and Wheel of Fortune.”…
