Lucas Believed Anakin Should Never Have Been A Jedi

Where did it all go wrong for Anakin? Some viewers point to his character flaws; they accept Yoda’s argument that there was always fear in Anakin’s heart, and that this fear would inevitably lead to anger, to hatred, and ultimately to suffering. Others argue those flaws could have been dealt with had the Jedi been more empathetic, had they offered a support network and taught Anakin how to manage his attachments. But, surprisingly, George Lucas had a very different idea.

Modern Star Wars tends to venerate Qui-Gon Jinn, arguing the maverick Jedi had a better perspective on the Force than his contemporaries; the general opinion is that he was right to want Anakin trained as a Jedi, because it was the will of the Force, and that he’d have done a better job than Obi-Wan. In contrast, Lucas believed Qui-Gon was a bit of a rebel Jedi who was completely wrong to want Anakin trained. As he explained in a 1999 interview…

Star Wars History Explained

Here’s the latest from: SWNn

Some stories are just movies, and others become modern mythology. Star Wars firmly belongs in the latter category. Since 1977, George Lucas’s space opera has captivated generations, spawning films, TV shows, books, and video games that weave together a tapestry of galactic conflict, mysticism, and politics. But for a newcomer—or even a casual fan—keeping track of thousands of years of lore can feel more difficult than navigating an asteroid field. Understanding how the pieces fit together transforms the viewing experience, turning a simple battle scene into the culmination of centuries of tension. Here is the essential Star Wars history explained, era by era.

The Early Republic Era
Long before the Skywalker family dominated galactic events, the galaxy was governed by the Galactic Republic. This period, often referred to as the “Old Republic” in legends and lore, was a time of relative peace and expansion, though it was not without its shadows. By the way, if you come across shadowy periods during your studying process, you might have a bright thought pop up in your mind: “What if I pay someone to do my homework?” If you think about using writing services, make sure to choose a trustworthy company before you place an order…

Lightsabers… With Tom?

Star Wars: Starfighter director Shawn Levy has confirmed an unexpected lightsaber scene with a difference. Star Wars is finally returning to the big screen this year with The Mandalorian & Grogu, but all eyes are already turning to 2027. The 50th anniversary of Star Wars, this will feature the original cut of A New Hope returning to theaters, as well as Shawn Levy’s Starfighter, the first movie set after the sequel trilogy. Featuring an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, and Amy Adams, this is easily one of the most exciting Star Wars films in years.

Speaking to the New York Times, Levy has revealed Starfighter features an unexpected lightsaber duel – and that Tom Cruise was involved. According to Levy, he’d had a steady stream of Hollywood A-listers visiting during filming. “Last week Steven Spielberg was here,” he recalled, and now Cruise was on-set…

Ahsoka Season 2’s Release Window

Here’s the latest from The Direct –   STaR wars

After worries of an imminent delay had begun to creep in, Disney+ has reconfirmed Ahsoka Season 2’s release window. The upcoming second season of Dave Filoni’s Rebels follow-up has long been assumed to be a part of Lucasfilm’s 2026 release plans. However, a recent update from the Star Wars studio, in which the series was left off Disney’s 2026 plans, led some to think it may have been bumped.

That does not seem to be the case, however, at least according to Disney’s latest update to the Disney+ streaming service. Ahsoka was recently placed in a new category titled “Coming Soon in 2026” on the Disney-owned streaming service.

This seemingly confirms that Ahsoka Season 2 will, in fact, be released sometime over the next 12 months…

Giving Star Wars Outlaws a Chance?

First impressions matter more in games and can be the determining factor in whether a game succeeds or not. Launch week narratives are full of early reviews, streamer opinions, and word of mouth. Unfortunately, for some games, such as Star Wars Outlaws, it can face undue and intense scrutiny. What started as curiosity upon the game’s reveal turned to criticism, and that is what stuck with fans. As a result, Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars game stumbled out of the gate.

But time has been kind to Star Wars Outlaws. It has seen an increase in player count, and fans are realizing they were overly harsh to the game. Many who tried the game and dropped it are returning, while others are giving it a shot for the first time. There are several factors contributing to the revival of Star Wars Outlaws, but the signs now point toward a positive reception that may overcome the initial backlash…

5 Things That Still Make No Sense About Darth Vader

In the opening minutes of 1977’s Star Wars, the stakes are made immediately clear, and one of the most iconic villains in film history was born as Darth Vader steps onto the screen. Played on screen by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones, Vader would transcend the movie itself, not only becoming an iconic character aesthetically (he’s still a popular Halloween costume) but defining the potential for the popularity of antagonists in movies for the rest of time. Even three years later, with The Empire Strikes Back, Vader solidified his place as one of the best of all time after delivering one of the most unexpected movie lines ever.

Three years after Empire, though, Return of the Jedi would start to unravel the mystique of Darth Vader, not only unmasking the character for the first time but giving fans a taste of who he really was before he became the villain fans knew. Time has continued to tell more and more tales of Darth Vader, filling out the margins of the character’s persona and history, but also creating plot holes and inconsistencies. Darth Vader is still one of the greatest villains in fiction, but he’s also been made pretty confusing over the years…

The Acolyte Cut An Important Prequels Scene

Here’s the latest from The Direct –   STaR wars

New information has revealed a key Prequels scene that was cut from The Acolyte at the last minute. Leslye Headland’s High Republic set Disney+ series originally ran from June to July 2024, telling the tale of a pair of Force-sensitive twins and a Jedi cover-up to conceal their mysterious origins. Although the show has been confirmed not to continue (following its cancellation shortly after Season 1), fans have been able to stay connected to the title through various tie-in books.

One of these books is set to hit store shelves this February in the form of The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte by Kristin Baver. The new book, scheduled for release on February 3, 2026, will provide fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the series, featuring new interviews with key creatives and never-before-seen artwork from the show’s production…

Everything Coming to ‘Star Wars’ In 2026

Here’s the latest from: SWNn

After a lot of failed attempts over the years, 2026 will finally see the return of Star Wars to the big screen. That’s thanks to director Jon Favreau and The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is set to take off on May 22.

The majority of the story details are currently being kept under wraps, but we do have a generic plot synopsis (see below), as well as some details: Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Ward sends Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu on a mission in the Outer Rim, in which they find Rotta the Hutt, voiced by Jeremy Allen White. We also know that some characters from The Mandalorian Season 3 are returning, including Zeb (voiced by Steve Blum) and some of the Imperial Warlords that made up the Shadow Council…

Memories of an Ahsoka Superfan

For a certain generation of Star Wars fans, The Clone Wars was THEIR Star Wars. And the breakthrough character of Ahsoka Tano, as voiced by Ashley Eckstein, is a fan favorite. For some, it took a while to get used to Ahsoka’s snippy attitude and quips. To others, she was a breath of fresh air and youthful energy. You can count Dylan McInerney in the latter, as he developed a “cartoon crush” for Ahsoka on day one, when he was only five years old. Now, after recently celebrating his 23rd birthday, Dylan Mac joins us to discuss a lifetime of Ahsoka fandom, and even getting to meet Ashley Eckstein herself!

Star Wars Explained

Ah, the long and winding road…

The site address may be new but the site itself is not, as the post history will demonstrate.

The site itself has existed in one form or another since way back in the early 2010’s (specifically the archive section anyway).

It began again proper in 2022 when I had two seperate sites called Cinema, TV & Streaming News and The Star Wars Archive (also Holonet News, etc. etc. etc. indecisive??? sighs sure thing).

As time went on I merged The Star Wars Archive with Cinema, TV & Streaming News becoming Cine/Wars.

This went on for some time until Cine/Wars changed to It’s All Entertainment and it was then that I finally bit the bullet and moved the Star Wars content to its own site, which it should have been all along!

So, we are here, now and as I signed up for two years hosting you’re stuck with me.

It may sound absolutely insane but I’m not in it for the hits, I just love doing it, it keeps me busy and that’s the way I like it!

I’m just going to keep plugging away in my little corner of the Star Wars universe, having fun!

There is no doubt about the talent that brought us, and continue to do so, the Star Wars shows, books, comics, games etc. that we all love but there are a lot of extremely dedicated and talented fans out there that bring content to us on a daily basis and it is what I try to bring here at It’s All Star Wars, both official and fan content.

I’m not much for social media but I do run the sister site It’s All Entertainment and have a few YouTube channels, It’s All Entertainment Video, It’s All Entertainment Retro and of course, It’s All Star Wars Video so subscribe to ’em if ya want.

Thanks for reading!

Max!

Should Lucasfilm Use AI Dubbing to Restore “Lost” Voices?

Here’s the latest from: SWNn

The theatrical Star Wars experience remains a quest for a legend from a bygone age, spanning multiple decades. While editors have been hard at work for years attempting to recreate projects such as “Harmy’s Despecialized Edition” for fans who sought an alternative route from the 1997 Special Editions, audio quality remains a substantial barrier. High-quality audio for deleted footage or mono audio seems lost deep beneath a layer of analog decay. However, new technology surrounding AI dubbing enters the fray, and now the question is whether Lucasfilm can use these tools to bridge the gap between decaying history and modern clarity, or does reconstructing a performance cross an ethical line?…

3 New Star Wars Trilogies?

Here’s the latest from: STaR warsThe Direct

Lucasfilm is gearing up for a massive cinematic comeback, with reports indicating that three brand-new Star Wars trilogies are in development. After focusing heavily on Disney+ series in recent years, the franchise is finally preparing to return to the big screen for the first time since 2019. The studio already has individual films lined up beginning in 2026, but these new trilogies suggest a far more ambitious long-term plan for the Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Behind the scenes, Lucasfilm is undergoing a major creative reset that’s quietly reshaping the Star Wars brand. This change stems from both industry realities and a renewed artistic philosophy.

Kathleen Kennedy has emphasized that Lucasfilm now wants to empower filmmakers to tell personal, standalone stories that don’t have to fit neatly into existing timelines or rely on nostalgia-driven connective tissue….

Mandalorian Passes 1 Billion Minutes Streamed

Here’s the latest from: SWNn

In a significant milestone for a Disney Plus original, Star Wars: The Mandalorian has now streamed over 1 billion minutes between millions of Disney Plus viewers. This makes it the first – and only – Star Wars show to do so.

In a new end-of-year statement directly from The Walt Disney Company about their streaming numbers, it was revealed that The Mandalorian has found the way to over a billion minutes of streamed content between its 24 episodes, making it the only Disney Plus original show to achieve such a milestone. (Only one other streaming-only series produced by Disney achieved such a feat – Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.) You can see the other shows – and two animated movies featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda songs – that reached such a milestone between Disney Plus and Hulu below…
