As is our tradition, we dedicate ample time to listener feedback on the final RFR before Thanksgiving. It’s our way of turning the spotlight onto our audience to say “thanks” for being so loyal and supportive. From your comments about new releases like Star Wars Visions to thoughts on The Original Trilogy, we love hearing from you. Is Obi-Wan the greatest Jedi ever? When did fans first learn The Empire Strikes Back was not “Star Wars II” but instead “Episode V”? What about the ’90s when Star Wars was only being represented by The Expanded Universe and PC games like Dark Forces. These are just some of the questions our audience of superfans are throwing at us. Plus, we take a brief look back at the history of the Baby Yoda balloon at The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, updates on the potential official release and 4K upgrade of the original 1977 version of Star Wars, the Yoda statue controversy in Jonesborough, Tennessee and more.

Regarding how Mon Mothma behaves in private and interacts with Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael in episode 4 (some of the press have already seen a handful of episodes), O’Reilly said the following:
First of all, yes. Stellan is just a special man and quite a brilliant actor. It was a real treat to get to work with him, and that scene you’re talking about in the gallery might be the first time we meet Mon Mothma in the season. It beautifully sets up what I think we’re trying to do with Mon Mothma, which is to meet the public face and unveil the private woman within it. That beautiful gallery set, which was designed by Luke Hull, also mirrors that within the scene. You enter a very public space, and then you go back behind a corner and we have a private interplay. So it allows for a play and a creativity, both within the space, but also between myself and Stellan, which feels genuinely full of energy. It was great to play. It is what an actor looks for; an actor looks for the private moments to reveal within a character….
Actors Denise Gough and Kyle Soller were over the (that’s no) moon about their character’s dark arcs in the second season.
By Ethan Sacks
In the end, they were Death Star-crossed lovers.
Romantics may have hoped that Dedra Meero (Denise Gough) and Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) would find a fairy tale ending during Season 2 of Andor, but the Imperial power couple were destined for more of a Shakespearean tragedy.
“We were fearful, ‘Are they just going to be in love?,” Gough tells StarWars.com. “[Creator and executive producer] Tony (Gilroy) laughed at me when I dared to suggest he would write something so juvenile.”
Instead, Gilroy and the writers crafted a deep saga with a lot to say about the moral toll of living under an authoritarian regime, a cruel normalcy that is as destructive as any planet-obliterating battle station. Imperial Security Bureau Supervisor Meero and ISB civil servant Karn were always doomed: Their first love was an Empire incapable of loving them back.
“The fact that there’s this bureaucratic element of the Empire was so unexpected,” says Soller. “I was like, ‘okay, that’s just amazing. I would never think that there are just people pushing papers. That’s exactly Syril’s story: He could be anybody and that’s what’s most terrifying, I think.”…

At the start of Andor’s third story arc, most of the main characters are approaching precarious turning points. The Empire is cracking down on citizens throughout the galaxy for the smallest infractions as their Imperial Security Bureau is determined to close in on the rebels responsible for the heist at Aldhani. In the “Narkina 5,” “Nobody’s Listening!,” and “One Way Out,” all directed by Toby Haynes, the production design and dialogue from writers Beau Willimon and Tony Gilroy take center stage as many characters are literally or figuratively trapped by the Empire.
Narkina 5
Cassian, still using the pseudonym Keef Girgo, is shipped out to the Imperial prison Narkina 5. Notably, one of the first things the prisoners are required to do while in transit is remove their shoes. The prison is a sea of white hallways, bunks, and work rooms where inmates are required to quickly work together to build pieces of equipment for the Empire. Order is maintained by electric floors that send shocks through barefoot prisoner’s bodies if they break a rule or work too slowly. Andor soon settles into life in captivity, but always keeps an eye towards a possible escape….

In just a matter of weeks, Star Wars fans will finally get to sink their teeth into Andor on Disney+. The series serves as a direct prequel to Star Wars: Rogue One, following Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor who was introduced in the 2016 big-screen epic.
Andor will carry on the dark tone from Rogue One, with the “hard edges” of the Star Wars universe being a focus of showrunner Tony Gilroy. Taking place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, the streaming series will seemingly fill in some blanks left in the Star Wars story.
But as one would expect, this is a delicate dance in moving around different elements of an ever-expanding intergalactic narrative. And Gilroy has spoken out on Andor‘s place in the timeline and how hard it was to not step on too many toes of other titles in the galaxy far, far away….
