New ‘Ahsoka’ Merch Descriptions List Anakin Skywalker Among Other Series Characters.
A description attached to multiple products tied to Star Wars: Ahsoka suggest that we will be seeing the return of the Jedi – Anakin Skywalker himself. This follows older reports indicating that Hayden Christensen would be appearing in the Disney Plus series in some capacity.
A multitude of products tied to the forthcoming Ahsoka series are now available to pre-order on Amazon. Beneath all the relevant products (you can find two examples here and here), the following copy lists Anakin Skywalker alongside other characters confirmed to appear in the series:…
Hollywood is broken. The strikes have made every project a tentative hope. People are playing dirty. The emotions of the labor force is likely going to get angrier. Once writers begin to lose their homes, they will have nothing left to lose but to see the strike through or it was all for nothing.
In the last week, I have had meetings with sources about the state of Lucasfilm, Star Wars, and Disney. As you would expect, everything is in a liminal space at the moment. Anyone, even on the inside, who pretends they know what is going to happen is probably too confident in their analysis. I like to report facts as much as I can. The only fact I know in this article, is there is a plan or a concept Lucasfilm may or may not use. Even though they’re often wrong, Disney likes to look at possible outcomes and take the smartest path…
According to Variety, the Lando series is moving forward with Lando actor Donald Glover and his brother, Stephen, taking over the writing duties. I think this is fantastic news, but of course it comes in the midst of two strikes, meaning work can’t start on the scripts until Disney and the rest of the AMPTP decide to start treating their writers and actors with respect.
“Star Wars” is great. And when it isn’t great, it’s interesting. Or weird. Or hilarious. Or baffling, moving, annoying, profound, stupid, and inspiring. When you’re a film franchise with nearly a half-century of staying power, you can be a lot of things. You can be everything.
/Film has been publishing articles about the “Star Wars” saga for as long as we’ve existed. We’ve waxed nostalgic about the original trilogy. We were on the frontlines of the “Last Jedi” wars. We’ve even watched as the prequels journeyed from “universally hated” to “begrudgingly respected.” We love “Star Wars.” And we sometimes love to hate “Star Was.” But we mostly love “Star Wars.” Like, a lot. Even the dumb stuff (especially the dumb stuff).
That brings us to this article: The 100 Greatest Star Wars Movie Moments Ever…
Leslye Headland, showrunner of upcoming Star Wars Disney+ TV show The Acolyte, promised Jedi action scenes unlike any viewers have seen before. Excitement is building for The Acolyte, an upcoming Star Wars Disney+ TV show set a century before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Unlike other Star Wars stories, this will focus in on the actions of the Sith – exploring them as the underdogs of the High Republic Era. This was a time when the Jedi and the Republic were at their height, and the dark side only existed in the galaxy’s shadows….
Disney+ streaming series Andor picked up multiple Emmy nominations today, setting a new critical benchmark for Star Wars on TV in the process. All told, the Rogue One prequel series brought in eight nominations this morning, including for writing, directing, visual effects, sound editing, music, and cinematography—as well as an overall nomination for Best Drama Series. It was enough to bring series creator Tony Gilroy out of WGA strike seclusion to do a few interviews—although not enough to keep him from bringing up reasons why the writers strike continues to be important…
A report has laid bare the challenges faced by Elstree Film Studios, best known as the home of the original “Star Wars” films.
The studio, which is owned and operated by Hertsmere Council, requires a cash injection of £150 million to £200 million (up to $255 million) to “replace life expired buildings and ensure its competitiveness beyond the 21st century.”
Last summer, during the replacement of some studio doors, asbestos was found in three soundstages as well as other buildings, which required remediation work. During that work, the contractor reported that some of the roof structures and walls were in a “dangerous” state, with some concrete beams dating back to the 1960s and ‘80s having already snapped…
As always, I like to share some interesting interviews related to the Star Wars universe as I come across them. This one is from Bantha Tracks #6 (1979) and with Harrison Ford, just after the filming of The Empire Strikes Back had wrapped.
I found it really interesting to hear from Harrison on his entry to the saga and being typecast as “The sensitive brother, or the bank-robbing brother, or the business brother, or any kind of sensitive brother.”
There are some nice parts about him breaking into acting and getting started in movies too. I found it to be a quite enjoyable read throughout. Everything that follows was grabbed directly from the original newsletter, so the credit goes to the people behind it…
Star Wars creator George Lucas changed the title of the first movie to A New Hope, and the explanation behind his decision is very interesting. Episode numbers and subtitles may be an essential part of the Star Wars saga now, but that wasn’t the case when the original movie came out in 1977. This reflects Lucas’ original expectations for Star Wars and how his plans changed after the movie became an enormous success.
A New Hope also started the tradition of Star Wars movie titles with multiple interpretations. Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, and The Last Jedi either had different meanings or significance that weren’t clear right away. However, there is a clear explanation for A New Hope’s title and why Lucas retitled Star Wars in the first place…
From the High Republic to the Dawn of the Jedi, all the way up to Rey Skywalker returning to a galaxy scarred by both the Imperials and the First Order, the “Star Wars” galaxy is getting larger by the day. For fans that have been here since the beginning, with a handful of tie-in comics and plenty of merchandise, it’s nice that we finally have so much choice in which “Star Wars” stories we feel most connected to. On the other hand, that means it’s easy to lose track of something special hiding deep in the mix.
That makes it a good time to highlight some “Star Wars” media that’s gone relatively under the wire. Among our selections are great stories and fun characters for fans new and old to finally meet. Some of these suggestions were sandbagged by fans looking for something else from what they were given, others simply got lost in the crush of a galaxy that won’t stop growing anytime soon. Some of it isn’t canon anymore, but don’t let that stop you — “Star Wars” keeps its Legends alive for good reason…
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is the latest live-action series to join the likes of Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Much like how the Marvel Cinematic Universe has pivoted from movies to Disney+ series, there’s a bright future ahead for the world of Wookiees and Wampas. Alongside The Acolyte and Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew promises to tell a new story away from the Skywalker Saga.

Spider-Man’s Jon Watts is once again uniting with Homecoming writer Christopher Ford to assemble a rag-tag crew of heroes and villains, with a typically diverse cast set to make their mark on the franchise.
Telling a story concurrent to Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and following the fall of the Empire, eagle-eyed fans are looking for our first tease of the Skeleton Crew potentially rubbing shoulders with Din Djarin.
Here’s everything we know about Skeleton Crew so far…
It’s a weekend, not much going on… but maybe you all want to have a fun time reading the latest crazy Star Wars rumors! We did this previously, where we discussed the rumor that Disney wants to sell Lucasfilm or is at least considering it (verdict was: extremely unlikely), but the rumor mill keeps on spinning and there are all new rumors making the rounds, and they are just as entertaining! So click through to enter the Star Wars Rumor Zone… this week mostly about The Acolyte!
You are about the enter the Star Wars Rumor Zone!
Ok, so what are those The Acolyte rumors?
The Acolyte has been a constant topic in the past few months. Rumors say that the show is not fully funded and that all that Leslye Headland did is to film a sizzle real, something to convince the Disney bosses to fully fund the show…
The leading man from Star Wars’ hit series, Andor, defended the pacing of the Disney+ show.
Andor has been nothing but a success story for Star Wars, with plenty of awards being bestowed upon the now critically acclaimed series.
The Rogue One prequel show aired in late 2022, but it quickly rose to fan-favorite status with many fans citing the care and commitment that went into the first season as a golden standard for the franchise.
A new report has also disclosed just how expensive Andor was for Disney to finance. It enjoyed a $250 million budget, but the quality of the show has proved time and time again that it was worthy, although admittedly eye-watering, investment for Lucasfilm…

We debate the news that Star Wars will release two new films in 2026, and a further film in 2027.
Tony Gilroy has spoken on Andor being created at just the right moment in time, Hasbro announce new Mission Fleet and NERF toys, and Carrie Fisher’s final film is set to be released.

Of the three recently-announced Star Wars films, perhaps the one that looks to be the most distinct is the new project by Logan director James Mangold, set 25,000 years before The Phantom Menace during an era dubbed as Dawn of the Jedi. (Whether this will also be the title of the film, remains to be seen.) As he is promoting Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, io9 asked him about his next collaboration with Lucasfilm, and the writer-director shared a few interesting insights.
First and perhaps most interestingly to those keeping a record of the various projects Lucasfilm has been developing over the years, Mangold confirmed he’s previously worked on Star Wars for a short period of time, possibly alluding to the Boba Fett film that was once reported and quickly shot down by Mangold himself and people at Lucasfilm. He then said that he was surprised that Lucasfilm were as excited to go back in the Star Wars timeline and tell stories unconstrained by lore as he was when he pitched the idea…
Disney has announced that they will no longer be releasing a Star Wars film on December 19, 2025. Instead, they are planning on releasing two feature films in 2026, seven months apart, on May 22, 2026, and December 18, 2026.
The first film on that list will come out just three weeks after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is released in theaters (Disney has also moved around Marvel’s release calendar). The company has not announced which movies will come out on each date. However, the most likely scenario is that this is the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed film they were targeting for 2025 and that due to the writers’ strike, they had to press Pause on for the moment. Meanwhile, the December date is likely the Dave Filoni-directed film that will culminate the overarching story told in The Mandalorian and spin-off shows during the New Republic era…
I feel it is time to discuss the latest rumors regarding Disney, Lucasfilm and Star Wars currently making waves. Maybe you have heard of the rumors, maybe you have not. In a nutshell: rumors state that Disney is in such a dire financial state (meaning, they have little cash, not that they are actually bankrupt) that the upcoming 2024 Hulu deal will require Disney to sell off assets so they can actually afford the deal. Hulu is currently still owned by Disney and Comcast, with Comcast having a minority stake in the company, and there is an agreement between Disney and Comcast that Disney buys Comcast’s part of Hulu. And said deal is supposed to happen in 2024. Now the big problem is that Comcast and Disney fundamentally disagree on the value of Hulu, it will not surprise anyone that Comcast has very different ideas about the value of Hulu and that Disney wants to pay much less than Comcast is asking for. So the deal is in arbitration where a third party will try to settle the question of Hulu’s actual market worth. And this is where the rumors begin, because in order to finance the deal Disney may have to resort to some drastic measures
If you do not care for rumors that are probably just wishful thinking you need not bother, this is not for you… everyone else, let’s have some fun in the Star Wars Rumor Zone and click through!…
In their Actors on Actors conversation, Diego Luna (‘Andor’) and Hayden Christensen (‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’) discuss everything that ‘Star Wars’ has brought to their lives. Luna describes the secretive process of being cast in ‘Rogue One,’ and tapping into personal experiences to portray a “more grounded” storyline in ‘Andor’ season 2. Hayden opens up about playing Darth Vader again, reuniting with Ewan McGregor, and how the experience of playing Anakin Skywalker “feels like home.”
If you have been following Star Wars or Hollywood for the last few months you know that everything in the industry is in disarray. While the David Zaslavs and the Bob Igers of the industry look for bonuses the size of the GDP of small nations, the people who create the content they live like kings off of are facing extinction.
Star Wars: Andor’s second season lost Tony Gilroy when Abdullah Saeed called the conflict of interest out to the Writer’s Guild of America. Gilroy agreed it was a conflict and stepped away from Andor 2. To the best of my knowledge, Andor 2 is still filming.
Gilroy is a rockstar in the industry and for Star Wars itself, delivering around fourteen hours of quality Star Wars content with a human story at its core. Anyone in charge at Disney looking for a bonus while this happened has some big balls…
While the future of big-screen Star Wars storytelling is still largely wrapped up in mystery, we were treated to some concrete details about one of the movies during the last Star Wars Celebration. Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, we will have a story set 15 years after the end of the Skywalker Saga, in a new era known as the New Jedi Order. This story will tell the rise of a new group of Jedi who have to face a challenging galaxy while being taught the ways of the Force by Jedi Master Rey Skywalker.
In the second of two articles (you can check out the first one here), I will speculate on where Rey might choose to train her Jedi candidates. With a whole galaxy of planets to choose from, the list is virtually endless, and there’s a good possibility the location will be somewhere entirely new, but I’ve tried to narrow the list down to locations that I believe have a good reason to be chosen as a starting ground for her Jedi Padawans…
At the last Star Wars Celebration, it was announced that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be directing a new film set in an era dubbed the New Jedi Order, set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. This film will see a new generation of Jedi rise up to face new challenges under the tutelage of Jedi Master Rey Skywalker. Little is known about this film, but we can perhaps make a guess at who might share the screen with Rey and where the film might take place. That is what I intend to do, starting with a breakdown of potential Jedi trainees in this first article.
It’s most likely that these Jedi will be fresh faces as we follow the path of a new young group of heroes venturing out into the galaxy. But there’s a possibility that one or two familiar faces may pop up to learn the ways of the Force under Rey’s tutelage. In this article I will speculate on which canon Force-sensitive characters could fit into the timeline of this film.
I’ve restricted my list to candidates of the academy, so I will be ruling out established Jedi Knights such as Cal Kestis and Ahsoka Tano, as I believe they would be Masters in their own right, assuming they are still around at this point in the timeline. With that said, let’s dive in!…

Prolific Star Wars novel author Timothy Zahn spoke for the first time about Thrawn’s upcoming debut appearance in live-action.
In 1991, Timothy Zahn and Lucasfilm released the first novel in The Thrawn Trilogy. Heir to the Empire was set five years after Return of the Jedi and dealt with heroes of the New Republic era going up against the fearsome Imperial Remnant. Sound familiar?
In these books, what was left of the Empire was spearheaded by the cold, calculating Chiss strategist known as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn would later come to figure heavily into the canon series Star Wars Rebels and will also play a key role in the forthcoming Ahsoka…
