The Acolyte Explained | Highlights from Episode 7 “Choice”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

In the latest episode of The Acolyte, we return to Brendok to see the events from episode 3 from a new perspective — through the eyes of the Jedi.

By Kristin Baver

It would seem that what we saw in the third episode of The Acolyte was true…from a certain point of view.

This week, the penultimate episode of The Acolyte pays homage to the Akira Kurosawa classic Rashomon, returning to Brendok and the past to reexamine the events of the twin’s separation from the perspective of the four central Jedi: Jedi Knight Sol (Lee Jung-jae), Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss), her Padawan Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman), and Master Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo). As we rejoin Mother Aniseya’s (Jodie Turner-Smith) coven, we gain new insights into how the Jedi perceive the witches and their ritual as well as their treatment of young Osha (Lauren Brady) and Mae (Leah Brady). An examination of the nature of truth and an interrogation of justice, the more we learn, the more questions remain….

The Acolyte Explained | Highlights from “Teach / Corrupt”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

In the aftermath of last week’s battle, Mae and Osha each get a fresh perspective.

By Kristin Baver

Two sisters, so alike yet so different.

In the latest episode of The Acolyte, we must confront the aftermath of the conflict on Khofar, and its implications of a looming darkness. And we’re not alone. Masquerading as her sister thanks to a quick lightsaber-assisted haircut, Mae (Amandla Stenberg) is once again aboard the Polan, this time traveling in the company of Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae). That leaves Osha (Amandla Stenberg) stranded on an unknown world in the company of a murderer who is tending to her wounds rather than snuffing her out…

The Acolyte Explained | Highlights from “Night”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

Darkness has fallen, and this week a dangerous creature is stalking the Jedi through the jungle.

By Kristin Baver

After what felt like an eternity, we return to the Khofar jungle in the aftermath of last week’s final frightening scene.

The Stranger is a creature unlike any we’ve encountered in the series so far. The twisted metal smile playing across the helmet that conceals the identity of Mae’s Master is like something out of a horror movie. Silent and deadly, this red bladed warrior prowls through the forest indiscriminately slaughtering anyone who gets in their way. The Jedi, guardians of peace and justice, have no choice but to overpower this villain. And caught on the edges of this climactic battle between the light and the dark, Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and Osha (Amandla Stenberg) are on the cusp of reuniting at last…if they can survive the night….

By Kristin Baver

It’s a race through the jungles of Khofar to find the Wookiee first!

This week, The Acolyte returns to the present-day mystery, with Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and his mission crew versus Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and Qimir (Manny Jacinto), both desperate to reach Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) in his solitary hideout. As they venture deep into the forest, Mae and Osha (Amandla Stenberg) begin to doubt their own goals and abilities on their conflicting quests. Osha stands to learn a valuable lesson about how her past defines her present, although she is plagued by her own hesitations in bringing Mae in sooner. Meanwhile, Mae is having doubts about her own place in the galaxy…

By Kristin Baver

It’s like…something out of a dream. (I hope you read that in Luke Skywalker’s voice.)

“The Cavalry Has Arrived” brings Star Wars: The Bad Batch to a close in epic fashion, as the Batch and nefarious Imperial scientist Dr. Hemlock collide one last time. The series finale picks up with Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, Echo, and Emerie all looking to save Omega from Hemlock and his experiments at Mount Tantiss, though the young clone takes the initiative to free herself — and in classic Omega style. A tense, emotional, and action-packed double-length episode, “The Cavalry Has Arrived” delivers satisfying answers, endings, and futures for these unique heroes and villains we’ve come to know the last few years. Here are five highlights….

Bad Batch Declassified: 5 Highlights from “Into the Breach”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

The search for Tantiss’ location heats up.

By Dan Brooks

If there are two things the Bad Batch are really good at, it’s breaking in — and breaking out.

With Omega in the custody of Dr. Hemlock at Mount Tantiss, her Clone Force 99 brothers are concerned only with getting her back. In “Into the Breach,” they come up with a plan to sneak aboard an Imperial station and steal the facility’s coordinates; difficult, to be sure, but the team thankfully has an ex-vice admiral up its collective sleeve. Yet as they devise this covert op, Omega proves to be ever the Batcher herself — already plotting as escape for herself and Hemlock’s other captive children. A great dual-caper tale, here are five highlights…

Hunter and Wrecker will do anything to help Omega. This week, that means tracking down Fennec Shand and trusting the mercenary to help them get vital intel on why the Empire is hunting Omega down. Between the space gators, a chittering bounty, and Fennec’s no-nonsense demeanor, this deal is getting worse all the time. But there’s hope that Fennec is good on her word. And while Hunter and Wrecker are dealing with a literal minefield, Omega helps Crosshair calm his mind with a few tricks she learned from the Wookiee Jedi Gungi. Bad Batch Declassified: 5 Highlights from “The Return”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

Reunited and it feels so good. Or does it?

By Dan Brooks

Family reunions can be weird. Especially in the galaxy far, far away.

In “The Return,” the Bad Batch are finally back together. But there’s a lot of baggage, particularly between Crosshair and Hunter, and it weighs on them heavily. They need to learn to trust each other again, both as soldiers and brothers, and it takes some work; in classic Bad Batch fashion, that comes to involve a mission — which sees the team head to Barton IV, where Crosshair previously killed an Imperial officer — and facing a giant creature. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Here are five highlights from “The Return.”…

Bad Batch Declassified: 5 Highlights from “A Different Approach”

Here’s the latest from: StarWars.Com

Omega’s optimistic attitude can’t quite crack Crosshair’s hardened nature as the two try to find a way off the planet Lau.

By Kristin Baver

Hope. In countless Star Wars stories, it keeps our heroes on course for victory, and makes the impossible a reality when facing down an enemy like the Empire. And for young Omega, it pushes her forward as she flees from Dr. Royce Hemlock, believing, without a doubt, that she and her brothers will be reunited.

Not everyone shares her view. Omega and Crosshair have been at odds all season. She wanted to escape; he wanted to be left behind. She believed they could get to freedom; he was convinced they would never make it. Now, having crashed on Lau, Omega is unwavering in her belief that her brothers are out there, looking for her, and they will meet again. But first, she and Crosshair have to survive a high-stakes card game and Hemlock’s tenacity. Here are five highlights from the latest episode, “A Different Approach.”…

The writer speaks with StarWars.com about his new anthology of scary Star Wars stories.

For writer Cavan Scott, there’s no mystery as to why Halloween and Star Wars go so well together.

“Ask anyone who has gone trick or treating as Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker!” he tells StarWars.com. “Star Wars has been scary from the start. I mean, there’s a werewolf in the cantina. And that’s before you get to wampas, witches, and brain worms!”

He would know. Scott has turned spine-tingling Star Wars stories into an annual Halloween tradition, writing several all-ages comic book anthologies over the last few years. And he has returned from the depths (of his busy schedule) for a new creepy collection…
