Cassian Andor has returned to Ferrix to mourn his mother. But even in death, Maarva has other plans. Knowing that the people of her community will come together to listen to her final words, she makes her message count and the battle against the Empire begins.
Here are seven highlights from the final episode of the first season of Andor…
Spoiler warning: This article contains story details and plot points from the entirety of Andor Season 1.
Andor isn’t like the Star Wars we’ve known. It announces this to us in its opening sequence, which finds Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor skulking forward in the rain, heading into a brothel, and minutes later, accidentally killing a local officer before deliberately dispatching a second. As far as inciting incidents go, this is a far cry from bickering droids escaping Darth Vader and his forces.
Which is all to say that Andor was a gamble. The Disney+ Original series doubled down on the grounded tone of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, taking the galaxy far, far away to a far more real-world, messier place than it’s ever been. But for Tony Gilroy, Rogue One co-writer and creator of the series, deviating from what Star Wars typically is never gave him a second thought.
“I don’t worry about that at all,” he tells StarWars.com. “I worry about the storytelling. I worry about the logic of it. I worry about the plotting. I worry about the characters. I worry about the story making sense and things tying together.”
It seems to have worked out for Gilroy, as Andor proved to resonate with both critics and fans. The series just wrapped up its memorable first season, of which Gilroy spoke with StarWars.com at length. The 12-episode season follows Cassian Andor five years before the events of Rogue One, as circumstances take him from drifting loner to Imperial prisoner to, finally, a believer in the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire. Throughout, there’s nary a mention of Jedi; thankfully, Lucasfilm and Disney were okay with that.
“I think everybody was kind of aware on their side that there was not only an opportunity, but a need for a new lane,” Gilroy says. “If there’s a billion beings in that galaxy, surely there’s a billion stories there, and they don’t all have to do with lightsabers and Jedi and Luke and Darth Vader. I mean, other people are living their lives, and there are incredible events that are happening.”…

What does it mean for the future of STAR WARS on the big and flatscreen? We invite you to chat, comment, and call in with your thoughts and observations about this thrilling (and polarizing) first season of ANDOR.
Luthen Rael’s Galactic Antiquities and Objects of Interest may be a front for his rebel dealings, but it’s a really convincing one. That’s because it’s filled with interesting artifacts from across the galaxy, and for Star Wars fans, that means only one thing: Easter eggs! Ever since we first stepped foot in Luthen’s by-appointment-only business in Andor on Disney+, eagle-eyed viewers have been scouring the screen for items that might have been seen in other Star Wars storytelling, or rarities that connect in some way to the larger saga. Wanting to know just what galactic goodies are hidden in the upper-scale shop, StarWars.com confirmed 10 Easter eggs that fans can find while browsing Luthen’s gallery…
In “Daughter of Ferrix,” a new momentum grows in Andor as our heroes must take their next steps, none of which are easy. Cassian has found his freedom, but faces a new personal reality; Mon Mothma leans toward an impossible choice; and Luthen Rael makes a major sacrifice. With one episode to go in Season 1, “Daughter of Ferrix” moves everyone forward toward an endgame, but at a great cost. Here are five highlights…..
Right from the earliest discussions on what Andor would be, Martyn Doust knew he’d be busy. As prop master, Doust was in charge of realizing everything from blasters to drinkware for the Disney+ Original series. But Andor would be a unique challenge for Doust, who has worked on every Star Wars film in the Disney era. Under the guidance of showrunner Tony Gilroy, it was to be more grounded, more real, and it would go to more places. “We always knew we were going to be visiting lots of different, new worlds with Andor,” Doust tells StarWars.com. “And we knew that each world would have its own distinct look and feel and its own aesthetic. We really wanted to make sure that the props from that world looked like they lived in that world.” As Andor heads toward its season finale, Doust spoke with StarWars.com about how some of the series’ most important and memorable props came to be…..

We’ve reached the second to last episode of Andor season one! Daughter of Ferrix felt similar to episode seven, Announcement. It was like a bridge from the thrilling conclusion to the prison arc to the season finale next week. Here are my thoughts.
Floor manager Kino Loy was good at his job. He kept his men in line. He helped the Empire maintain production quotas on Narkina 5. But something in Loy has shattered, and with the knowledge that there’s no hope of release other than escape, a plan is starting to form that will take Cassian and the rest of the inmates to the brink.
Here are five highlights from the latest episode of Andor….
According to the producer of Andor, the upcoming second season of the show is going to be quite different than what the world is watching now.
Much to the surprise of many, the Disney+ series following Cassian Andor from Rogue One has been phenomenal for many. In fact, lots of people have claimed it to be one of the best pieces of Star Wars storytelling ever.
Previously it has been revealed while the first twelve episodes of the show will cover the span of a year, the next batch, which begins filming soon, will explore the next four.
It’s that unique shift in storytelling structure which will help, at least in part, make the final half of the Andor series very different from the first….
Select episodes of Andor will be shown on cable television channels for Thanksgiving and ahead of the show’s season finale.
While Andor on Disney+ is both a prequel and spin-off to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the series led by Cassian Andor’s Diego Luna has been a Star Wars project like none other.
In addition to its unique formulaic structure, lightsabers and Skywalkers have been noticeably absent; and in their place, Star Wars’ most mature, complex, and intelligent content to date.
Despite being a critics’ darling, Andor has struggled in terms of viewership. But that all could change when the Star Wars series breaks the mold once more in a historic release beyond that of Disney+…
AUDIO PODCAST – “Here we go again”, as Threepio once famously said. Another rumored STAR WARS film is in the works, this one coming from Damon Lindelof and targeting a December 2025 release. So naturally, we are skeptical. ANDOR is bringing us STAR WARS stories told without all the typical bells and whistles we expect. We discuss the pros and cons. Faverau and Filoni revealed some MANDALORIAN, AHSOKA, and SKELETON CREW production updates to ET and we review the highlights, along with Hayden Christensen’s acceptance speech at the 2022 Saturn Awards. Plus, a new version of the NARKINA PRISON BLUES and more!

The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.
Ruescott Melshi was first introduced to Star Wars fans in Rogue One. But we got to see how he met Cassian in the prison arc of Andor. Today we’re talking about Melshi’s journey from hopeless inmate to inspiring soldier!
The office in Adria Arjona’s London apartment looked like it was being inhabited by an obsessive, her unwavering focus set on Bix Caleen. “I looked like a serial killer because I had notepads everywhere,” Arjona tells StarWars.com. “I just kept telling everyone, ‘I’m an actress. If you come in, don’t get scared.’ I’m just sort of plotting and connecting the dots that would take Bix to where she ends up.”
The crew behind Andor, now streaming on Disney+, was hard at work in production of the first season at Pinewood Studios at the time and Arjona and creator Tony Gilroy discussed Bix’s character arc at length. Now more than three quarters of the way through the season, viewers have witnessed the downward spiral taking Bix from self-made salvage dealer at the start to tortured captive being held against her will by the Empire. “Bix is bold and fearless, hardworking and incredibly loyal — sometimes to her own detriment,” Arjona explains. But her world begins to unravel swiftly….

Andor analyzed: 5 highlights from episode 9, “Nobody’s Listening!”
The fascism of the Empire is in full bloom.
As Andor continues with “Nobody’s Listening!” — a title pulled from powerful dialogue mid-episode — our heroes are suffering the full wrath of the Empire. A sobering installment that depicts the harsh realities of living under the Imperial regime, “Nobody’s Listening!” still, in the end, offers a glimmer of hope and rebellion. Here are five highlights….
Star Wars fans have been racking their brains trying to figure out what Cassian and the rest of his floor is building in prison on Narkina 5. I don’t think we will ever find out the truth, and this is why.
Andor just can’t stop being awesome! I am loving the prison arc, and while this episode didn’t grab me quite as much as episode eight, it still surprised me with several character moments surrounding Kino, Dedra, Syril, Vel, and more. I cannot WAIT to see how it all ends next week!!
Check out a new clip from episode 9 of #Andor. Find out what’s happening on level 2 in tonight’s episode, streaming only on @DisneyPlus.

While the ratings may not be there like they were for The Mandalorian, it’s undeniable that Andor is getting rave reviews across the board. The initial batch of reactions from critics was very positive, and now, with 478 reviews and a 92% critic rating, the first season of the series has been Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fans have also given their stamp of approval on the website, with 2588 user ratings as of the posting of this article and an overall 83% score. It is not rare for more quiet and reserved series or movies, even when they are overall praised from critics and fans, to have a slightly higher critic rating than an audience one. More explosive movies like Black Adam have much higher audience than critic ratings….

Tales of the Jedi and Andor Episode 8 at the same time, sooo much content so little time but for now we talk about the crazy world that this show just showed us.
Andor goes to prison! This episode was maybe my favorite of the series so far. That’s thanks to the excellent setup of the previous seven, to be fair, but seeing all of the characters and storylines starting to come together is very satisfying, all while the show continues to say a LOT about the prison system, corporations, capitalism, and more. I loved this one!
Toby Haynes returns to direct the latest episode of Andor, scripted by Beau Willimon, where the Empire continues to exercise its full power over the galaxy. It is the beginning of yet another three-episode arc after the deviation from that structure that episode 7 gave us last week, and once again, it feels as mostly set-up for what’s to come.
The seventh episode followed the traditional three-act structure, with a beginning, middle, and end, while Narkina 5 is very much the beginning. And yet, the overall cohesiveness of the episode was beautifully achieved, with Willimon still managing to include some set-ups that were later paid off in most of the subplots in the episode, and through masterful editing happening all around. And those cameos too!…
Imperial Andor Rank Plaques are explained from David Crossman’s ranks chart from Star Wars Rogue One. Explains imperial officer tile color meanings. Includes Andor ISB and Army rank plaques from the series. Also includes Navy rank plaques and explains what the rank plaque yellow, red, and blue tile colors mean.
Long live the Empire!
