In the latest episode of The Acolyte, the Jedi arrive on Khofar in the search for Kelnacca.
By Kristin Baver
It’s a race through the jungles of Khofar to find the Wookiee first!
This week, The Acolyte returns to the present-day mystery, with Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) and his mission crew versus Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and Qimir (Manny Jacinto), both desperate to reach Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) in his solitary hideout. As they venture deep into the forest, Mae and Osha (Amandla Stenberg) begin to doubt their own goals and abilities on their conflicting quests. Osha stands to learn a valuable lesson about how her past defines her present, although she is plagued by her own hesitations in bringing Mae in sooner. Meanwhile, Mae is having doubts about her own place in the galaxy…

It’s like…something out of a dream. (I hope you read that in Luke Skywalker’s voice.)
This week, the story of The Acolyte steps away from the moody thriller that unfolded last week for a flashback sequence that gives us more insight into the complexities of Mae and Osha’s sibling bond and tragic past. Some 16 years prior to Mae’s killing spree, we find the young sisters testing their mothers’ boundaries, resisting the responsibility of leading their clan of witches, and contesting with a quartet of familiar Jedi…
With the two-episode premiere of The Acolyte, meet the assassin personally taking out members of the Jedi Order.
By Kristin Baver
To quote Nute Gunray: “Now there are two of them!”
In the two-episode premiere of The Acolyte, we meet two sisters with two very different lives. Mae (Amandla Stenberg) is a hot-tempered warrior and stone-cold killer, a trained assassin hunting some of the galaxy’s most dangerous prey: Jedi Masters. Meanwhile, her twin, Osha (also played by Amandla Stenberg), is traveling across the stars working odd jobs as a meknek, a mechanic taking on dangerous and complex repairs with the help of her droid, Pip.
Separated by tragedy 16 years in the past, Mae and Osha have followed their own paths believing the other to be dead. Until now…

Costume designer Jennifer Bryan shares a closer look at Mae, Sol, Indara, and other characters from the new Star Wars series.
By Kristin Baver
The murder mystery at the epicenter of The Acolyte, the new Star Wars live-action series premiering on Disney+ this week, pits the Jedi Order against a new assailant: an assassin out for revenge.
At a glance, costume designer Jennifer Bryan knew the Jedi robes and Mae’s assassin garments needed to work in harmony — essentially two sides of the same coin, — while simultaneously ushering in a new era of design for the series set during the High Republic, about 100 years prior to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. To achieve that delicate balance, Bryan and her team looked to real-world warriors and previous Star Wars costumes, then remixed the individual elements for something brand new. Among her inspirations were Trisha Biggar’s prequel costumes, which Bryan studied up close during a visit to Skywalker Ranch’s archives. “On this amazing planet that we live on now, I see a lot of things that I put together and put in the galaxy of Star Wars,” Bryan tells StarWars.com. “It’s different, but somehow I like to think that you sense the origins of the elements that I put together in The Acolyte.”…
