Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison wants to bring back the old “badass” side of his Star Wars bounty hunter in the future.

Despite only enjoying a few minutes of screen time in Star Wars’ original trilogy, Boba Fett has always been one of the franchise’s most iconic characters. Recently, the popular bounty hunter was given a new lease of life on Disney+ as Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison stepped into the role for The Mandalorian Season 2.

Across both his adventures with Din Djarin and his The Book of Boba Fett spin-off, Disney was criticized for not delivering enough of the badassery that the character has long been associated with. And clearly, the actor behind Fett agrees as he has revealed how he wants that to change going forward…

Unsurprising Actor Reportedly Cast For Ahsoka

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

She’s no Jedi. But she’s also not the only star of her 2023 Disney+ series, Ahsoka.

When Rosario Dawson brought Ahsoka Tano into live-action in The Mandalorian, her mission was made clear: she’s on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn and likely Ezra Bridger as well.

Since it’s confirmed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren would be joining the Disney+ cast, it appears that Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka is shaping up to be a Star Wars: Rebels live-action reunion. But ever since Dawson’s Ahsoka namedropped Thrawn, the question has been who Lucasfilm will cast to play the iconic antagonist.

Despite the fact Ahsoka is currently filming, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni kept Thrawn’s casting under wraps throughout Star Wars Celebration and the D23 Expo.

But now, a new rumor just may have the answer….

Darth Vader’s Iconic Voice Actor to Steps Down

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Since Star Wars first became a part of pop culture in 1977, James Earl Jones helped push the phenomenon to incredible heights thanks to his portrayal of the Sith Lord, Darth Vader. Although that character has gone through various adaptations and actors over the last 40 years, Jones’ voice is the one content in bringing the cyborg antagonist to life on the big and small screen.

Vader was last seen in this year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, with a team of actors and stuntmen helping bring the villain back in his battle against Ewan McGregor’s hero. While it allowed Hayden Christensen to return to his iconic role, earning a much better reception than his first go as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, James Earl Jones’ voice was also used through the Respeecher technology that Lucasfilm has employed numerous times on Disney+.

With Jones approaching his 92nd birthday, fans are naturally wondering how long he will continue working in Hollywood, especially with his workload having decreased fairly substantially over the last few years. Now, a new report has revealed that this time for Jones may come sooner than most fans were expecting….

Ohnaka Actor Teases Live-Action Crossover

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Recent Star Wars projects, such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, have drawn from past projects more than any before it. In fact, they’re the first live-action properties to actually try to integrate animated shows such as The Clone Wars and Rebels. Characters such as Ahsoka Tano , Cad Bane, and Bo-Katan Kryze have now transitioned over from the world of animation for the first time. But who might be next?

With Ahsoka right around the corner, fans know that Sabine Wren and Hera will be making the jump, with Ezra and Thrawn likely right behind them. But there’s another character whose involvement is long overdue: Hondo Ohnaka.

The space pirate was first introduced as a villain in The Clone Wars but then became somewhat of a mentor to Ezra Bridger in Rebels. The character has even transcended those shows and become a prominent part of some rides at both Disneyland and Disneyworld, not to mention leading his own spin-off book.

So when exactly will he make the jump to live action, if ever?…

Star Wars Actor Speaks On Problem With Luke Skywalker’s Sequel Trilogy Arc

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

The sequel trilogy remains a sizzling topic of discussion in the Star Wars community nearly three years after its conclusion, in no small part due to the words of actor John Boyega. Having brought Finn to life in the first cycle of films under the Disney umbrella, Boyega has been critical of both the direction the story took and his experiences on set as his character’s role deteriorated.

Such comments led to discussions with Disney executives and a phone call from Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, and for the time being all parties have seemingly buried the hatchet. With Finn’s story currently finished in The Rise of Skywalker, Boyega has served as an ambassador for Star Wars. He continues to support the franchise’s endeavors and recently voiced approval for the support Moses Ingram received following racist online comments in the lead-up to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Though much is forgiven, Boyega isn’t without regrets – or designs of returning to the galaxy far, far away. Of late, the actor has been adamant that he won’t be donning a Resistance uniform again, in large part because he feels Finn’s story is finished. Boyega reaffirmed that position in a recent interview, and he shared some thoughts on places he’d liked to have seen the sequel trilogy go – most notably, with an iconic Jedi Master.

John Boyega Wanted More From Luke Skywalker…

Boba Fett Actor Admits He Put Less Effort Into The Prequels Than The Mandalorian

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison has got to be one of the luckiest actors in all of Hollywood. When he boarded Attack of the Clones in 2002, little did he know that his role as Jango Fett would go on to put him in a unique spot; the man is set for life when it comes to acting—and it only just truly picked up thanks to The Mandalorian.

Sure, then it was just Jango Fett. But in playing that one role, he then went on to be the one and only live-action actor for every clone to ever exist (or Fett family member). So not only did Morrison return to bring Boba Fett to life in The Mandalorian‘s second season, but he even got his own solo outing on Disney+. To add to that, if any other clone makes the transition to live-action, be it Rex, Echo, Fives, Borr, or countless others, then he’s the man Lucasfilm will go to.

One would have assumed that the actor really worked hard to get himself into such a big spot. However, according to the man himself, it seems he might have put a lot less effort into the prequel movies than anyone would have thought….

Lucasfilm Had One Actor In Mind For Acolyte

Here’s the latest from: The Direct – Star Wars

Lucasfilm is currently in development on multiple new Star Wars series for Disney+, including The Acolyte. Coming from executive producer Leslye Headland, The Acolyte is set to explore the waning days of the franchise’s High Republic era as the Dark Side of the Force begins to grow stronger.

Beyond that, not much is known about the streaming show. Its assumed that the Acolyte in the title will refer to a character who follows, or is being taught, the ways of the Sith. This seems especially likely given the sinister-looking red lettering that makes up the series’ logo.

In July, however, fans got that much closer to understanding the scope of the series when Lucasfilm officially announced that The Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg was boarding the show as its lead actor. And now, it would seem as though the studio’s list of potential stars for The Acolyte wasn’t especially lengthy.

Amandla Stenberg Was The Acolyte’s Top Choice
